Dans le cadre du Projet Lustres de Kashan, mené par Yves Porter (LA3M/Institut Universitaire de France, IUF), en association avec Richard P. McClary (York University) et Anaïs Leone (post-doc, LA3M), nous sommes heureux d’annoncer une Journée d’études qui aura lieu à la Maison Méditerranéenne des Sciences de l’Homme (MMSH) à Aix-en-Provence, avec le soutien du Laboratoire d’Archéologie Médiévale et Moderne en Méditerranée (LA3M), sur le thème des contextes et décors du Complexe de ‘Abd al-Samad à Natanz (Iran).

Cette journée inclura des étudiants avancés et des chercheurs travaillant sur les inventaires muséaux et les archives relatifs aux carreaux lustrés de Natanz, sur l’organisation spatiale des décors (carreaux et stucs), sur les artisans et les commanditaires concernés, et plus généralement sur le contexte de ces créations (voir programme ci-dessous).

In the frame of the Kashan Luster Project directed by Yves Porter (LA3M/Institut Universitaire de France, IUF), and in association with Richard P. McClary (York University) and Anaïs Leone (post-doc, LA3M), we are pleased to launch a project for a one-day conference to be held at the Maison Méditerranéenne des Sciences de l’Homme (MMSH) at Aix-en-Provence, and with the support of the Laboratoire d’Archéologie Médiévale et Moderne en Méditerranée (LA3M), on the décor of ‘Abd al-Samad’s Shrine in Natanz.

The conference will include advanced students and scholars working on the inventory, archives and museography of Natanz’s luster tiles, the spatial organization of the décor (tiles & stucco), the craftsmen and patron(s) involved in its creation, and more generally on the context of its making (see program below).
